Wins and false starts:

Why and how do people stop self-tracking?

There are several studies that look into why people use self-tracking technology. Some even touch on problems and concerns involving self-tracking technology. However, are we really seeing the whole picture when the sample population consists of users still enamored with their devices? What about the population of users that have dropped off of the self-tracking bandwagon altogether?  Well, that is exactly what my peers and I are attempting to study. Over the next few months we will be developing surveys and conducting interviews that dig deeper into why users stop self-tracking and how this technology might be better applied to suit their needs.
